237 AIDS patients registered at PIMS last year

The PIMS Centre for Treatment and Prevention of AIDS registered as many as 237 new patients of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) last year.

MANILA, Philippines—Almost 400 new cases of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which could lead to the fatal Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), were reported in November, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
Contracting HIV leads to a condition characterized by the weakening or breakdown of the body’s immune system.

Dubai: Educating young people — the region’s greatest resources — of HIV and Aids is critical to ward off the spread of the disease, delegates heard at a two-day conference in Dubai.

NACA Seeks to Curtail HIV Through Women's Empowerment

The National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA), said in Gwagwalada, FCT, it was committed to women empowerment as a tool for reducing HIV and AIDS.
